Getting to know Newtowne

OUR VIRTUAL TOUR IS AVAILABLE ANY TIME — WE INVITE YOU TO START BY CHECKING OUT OUR SCHOOL SPACES AND READING ABOUT OUR FACULTY ON OUR WEBSITE.

Newtowne School’s ‘Enrollment Season’ takes place from October through January. During these months, prospective families have both virtual and in-person opportunities to learn more about the school, including:

In-person school tours where prospective families can get a feel for our engaging learning spaces in action. Morning tours are for adults only, and space is limited to minimize disruption for students.

Register here for in-person tours!

Virtual chats with current parents where prospective families can learn more about what it is like to be part of a family cooperative.

Open house events where prospective students and their families can visit Newtowne and see school spaces without students in session. The October open house is on a weekend morning, so children and adults can play and chat with teachers. The January open house is on a weekday evening; adults can visit classroom spaces and speak with current parents and members of the school’s leadership team.

All are welcome at these events – pre-registration is not required!

  • Saturday, October 21 @ 10 a.m. - 12 p.m

  • Thursday, January 11 @ 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Local school fairs where representatives from area preschools come together to share information about their programs in a trade-show format.

Registration at these events is recommended to ensure there will be enough materials and swag to go around!

Virtual ‘Meet the Director’ information sessions offer prospective families the opportunity to hear the Executive Director talk about the school philosophy and core values to understand if the Newtowne School cooperative is a good fit for their family. These sessions are held in a ‘webinar’ format, with a question-and-answer period at the end.

We also offer educator tours, host observations for higher education coursework, and have been a site for educational research. Additionally, we work with the practicum offices of several local teacher development departments and programs.
